The Question That Built ONYX

 

Why do organisations with good information still struggle to make confident decisions?

 

After more than 15 years working across Education, Healthcare, Defence, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Leisure and Commercial property, one question kept coming back.

 

Why were intelligent organisations, with experienced people, good documentation and specialist reports, still encountering problems that could often have been identified much earlier?

 

The answer wasn't a lack of information. Most organisations already had surveys, compliance records, contractor reports, drawings and risk assessments. The challenge was understanding how that information connected together. Different contractors looked at different systems. Different reports were stored in different places. Different people held different pieces of knowledge.

 

Very few people had the time or opportunity to step back and see the bigger picture. That realisation became the foundation of ONYX. Not another compliance company. Not another facilities management provider. A consultancy focused on understanding, bringing information together and helping organisations make better decisions with confidence.

Meet the Team

Shaun Thomson

 

Shaun is the founder of ONYX and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB), bringing more than 15 years' experience delivering projects and managing estates across Education, Healthcare, Defence, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Commercial Property and Leisure environments.

 

His experience includes Construction Project Management, Estate Assurance, Client-side CDM, operational estates, compliance, refurbishment projects and strategic consultancy.

 

Clare Thomson

 

Clare helps coordinate the day-to-day delivery of ONYX, ensuring clients receive a professional, organised and responsive service. With experience in Education, administration and customer support, Clare supports communication, reporting, scheduling and client relationships, helping ensure every engagement reflects the standards and values ONYX was built upon.

Leah Thomson 

junior Learning & Business Support 

As part of the next generation of ONYX, Leah is beginning her journey by learning about the business through

simple administrative tasks, developing organisational skills and gaining an understanding of how professional

services are delivered.
